How old are the Rolex Watches?

Buying a pre-owned Rolex
is an important decision
Let us explain
the Rolex "Age" question in detail
We strive to give our clients a Rolex watch as near to new condition as
possible. This sets our watches far above other "used" Rolex watches offered on
the market
a watch has six major components:
1) movement (inside mechanism)
2) case (holds in the movement)
3) bracelet (watch band)
4) crystal (glass over the face)
5) crown (winder and its parts)
6) dial (the face of the watch)
We only accept pre-owned Rolex watches from our dealers whose movement has been
properly maintained, runs expertly and with a case that is solid, not damaged,
nor excessively worn
To us the condition of the watch is paramount, not its
age
For example you could have last years model, that, by abuse has been damaged
- lugs don't securely hold the band and the case is corroded, warped, damaged and
doesn't seal the movement which is rusted
In contrast you could have a 20 year old watch with a pristine movement and
solid case
_______________
from CanadaJewels you can expect
a Rolex...
1) movement
that is in strong running order in pristine condition which has been completely
overhauled and timing adjusted within the past 3 months... any worn parts are replaced with 100%
genuine Rolex parts,
all worn gaskets are replaced
a Rolex movement is the finest in the world - if maintained, they literally last
forever - evidence in Rolex watches that have been handed down for generations
2) case
that is undamaged, solid, no dents, abrasion, corrosion nor excessive wear
solid lugs (hold the pins that attach the band) these are specially significant
- in used, well worn watches these may be worn causing the bracelet not to be
secure against the watch
3) bracelet
this is very important - a pre-owned Rolex watch that has been worn say 10 years
or more - will have a bracelet that is loose and stretched - particularly in
gold models, even
Rolex recommends gold bracelets be replaced every 10 years
Jubilee & Oyster Bracelets
All Stainless Steel and 18Kt Gold & Stainless Steel bracelets on
our watches are original Rolex.
The original Rolex watch bracelet is tightened, refinished and any worn parts
are replaced.
Solid 18Kt Gold Presidential Bracelets
All solid 18Kt gold Presidential bracelets (unless specifically
specified as refinished Rolex) on our watches are new replacement after market
bands.
These gold bracelets are brand new - custom made to Rolex specifications in Italy (not the far east) of
the highest quality - identical in quality, gold content, weight and size to the
original. We refinish and apply the clasp or fold over buckle from the original
Rolex bracelet, as those seldom usually wear out or stretch.
4) crystal
crystals, the glass that covers the face, scratch, chip and wear... we replace the crystals on all Rolex watches with the finest - a
sapphire crystal, complete with the Rolex cyclops (magnifier) and seal it
properly with new gaskets
5) crown
the winder (crown, tube and gasket configuration) is refinished, resealed with
gaskets and replaced if necessary with
a new 100% genuine Rolex winder component
6) dial
the dial, face of the watch, fades and dulls with time and exposure to light...
the Rolex dial is refinished to like new state. That’s
the original Rolex dial that’s been cleaned up and returned to like new
condition and we replace the hands if needed.
The hands often are worn with time and we usually replace the hands.
Diamond additions to the face, lugs or bezel will be custom after market
additions of fine quality - VS/SI1 G-H diamonds.
