What is the Rolex booklet that comes with the watch?

An interesting and valuable booklet from Rolex that explains the working and construction of your Rolex watch and bracelet.  Rolex history and milestones.

Also provides information on the care and maintenance of your Rolex.

What does Certified Chronometer on a Rolex dial mean?

A certified chronometer is a high-precision watch capable of displaying the seconds and which has has been tested and certified by an official neutral body (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres - COSC).

Each chronometer is unique, identified by a number engraved on its movement and a certification number given by the COSC.  Each movement is individually tested for several consecutive days, in 5 positions and at 3 temperatures.  Each movement is individually measured.  Any watch with the denomination "chronometer" is provided with a certified movement.

The term chronometer is often wrongly applied to timekeeping instruments fitted with an additional mechanism that may be set in motion by pushbuttons to enable measurement of the duration of an event.  Such an instrument is in fact a chronograph.  It may of course be chronometer-certified, provided it meets the criteria set for the standard.

Are the pictures in the descriptions images of the actual watches?

Yes - the pictures in the description and slide show are of the actual Rolex watch being offered.  We apologize for the quality of our photography.  We are trying to improve.  The watches look much nicer in reality than our pictures.

What Quality are the Diamonds used?

The diamonds used to highlight all Rolex watches are first class.  They are fully faceted and brilliant cut and of good gem quality.  VS1-SI1/G-H fine gem quality and guaranteed non-conflict.  Absolutely perfect to the naked eye, well cut and icy white in colour.

Any diamond or other custom additions to these watches have been custom-performed by our dealers and not Rolex SA.

To learn more about diamond qualities take Audrey's Diamond Tour

What does Quickset movement mean?

Quickset is a newer Rolex movement that allows for the rapid change of the date by moving the winder backwards.  With non quickset movements you have to turn the hands all the way for 24 hours to advance the date.  Quickset movements are available only on men's Rolex watches that we offer, however they cost approximately $350 more.  The Datejust model numbers 16013 and 16014 designate quickset movements.

How long will it take to get my watch?

We ship in stock watches within approximately 2 business days after payment confirmation.

If the Rolex as you want configured, is not in stock,
allow 7-14 working days before we ship.

We will advise of ship date, when we get your order.  Once we ship your watch, you'll be emailed a tracking number.

What is your return policy?

We want you 100% satisfied with your watch purchase.

You have a 15-Day Inspection Period to evaluate your watch.

We offer no hassle refunds during that period.  If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason ...  please notify us and we will issue to you a Refund or replacement Rolex upon receipt of the returned watch.

Beyond this inspection period we will try to honor requests for exchanges and/or upgrades as long as they are reasonable.  Our return policy does not apply to Special or Custom Orders.

How long have you been in business?

Our parent company JK Schmidt Jewellers Inc was established in 1973.  Our watch repairmen, polishers, and other associates as a team, have been in the industry for over 30 years on average and have over 200 years experience collectively.

We are respected members of the jewellery industry and belong to the following organizations:
Canadian Jewellers Association, Better Business Bureau, Jewelers Vigilance, Canadian Gem Society, Canadian Code of Diamond Conduct, Canadian Professional Jewellery Appraisers Association, Jewelers Board of Trade,
Westbank & District Chamber of Commerce.

How do I know my Rolex is authentic?

Our watches are absolutely authentic Rolex.

In order to verify your Rolex's manufacture information you may view its
Serial #, Model #, Case back ID, and Movement Signature
(the 4 primary verification methods used by professionals)

by looking between its bottom lugs (part where the band connects to case), top lugs, and by opening the watch's case back respectively.

If you are ever told that a watch is not authentic, you should ask if the individual or store performed these 4 verification tests as these are the only "fool-proof" verification methods.

Please note that due to Rolex SA's policies, authorized Rolex retail dealers are prohibited from providing verification of pre-owned Rolex watches with diamond or other additions.

Hence, if seeking 3rd party verification of your Rolex, we recommend you consult the advice of an independent high-end "Watchmaker" or "Watch Repair" shop as can be found under "Jewelry & Watch Repair" in your local yellow pages.

Can we visit your showroom?

For security and insurance reasons CanadaJewels offices are not open to the public, nor can we accommodate pick-up of watches at our location.  However, our parent retail store JK Schmidt Jewellers, in Westbank, BC is available to view Rolex watches and they can be picked up there.

Are you an authorized Rolex dealer?

We are not authorized dealers for the Rolex Watch Company or any of its subsidiaries, Rolex Canada, Rolex USA.

Because we are not an authorized dealer, we are able to sell discounted pre-owned watches.  However, we are not able to sell new watches with their original factory warranty.  CanadaJewels and its parent company JK Schmidt Jewellers, not Rolex is the sole warrantors of all pre-owned Rolex watches we sell.

We are authorized dealers of:
Bulova, Movado, Swiss Army, ESQ Esquire, Citizen, Seiko, Caravelle, Colibri, Accutron Swiss, Swiss Military, Harley Davidson, St Moritz and Victorianox watches.

Are your pre-owned watches reconditioned, and if so, what is the warranty?

We only buy timepieces from international suppliers with whom we have had long relationships, our items are already in excellent internal and external condition.

In most cases we must perform only a polish and timing adjustment to our Rolex watches.  If a full servicing/overhaul is needed we will perform it at our cost.  Every watch we sell comes with a one year warranty. For specific warranty information click here

Do you take trade-ins?

Yes, but only if you have a higher-end Rolex models such as a President, DateJust or Sports models.  When submitting a trade proposal, please indicate the model number, case metal, case size, shape, overall condition, and any other useful information.  One of us will respond to your inquiry the next business day.

What is a Rolex Hang Tag?

All our Rolex watches come with the Rolex hang tag attached.  This is a plastic medallion attached to the watch with green and gold string.

One side of the medallion certifies that the watch is Swiss and an officially certified chronometer.

The other side says "Rolex Watch Co. Ltd. Geneva-Bienne" and has the Rolex hologram.

Do you offer layaway terms?

Yes.

We can hold the watch of your choice for 120 days with a 20% deposit with no interest charges.

Please appreciate that all layaway payments are non-refundable.

Explain the Extended Warranty you offer

We offer an extended three(3) year warranty for your Rolex watch.

We recommend this, as it is very expensive to service or repair a complicated Rolex precision timepiece and many master watchmakers charge up to $600 plus parts for an  overhaul and reconditioning.

D
o you offer repair or customization services?

We will try to accommodate requests for repair and customization.  Contact us for an estimate and instructions for sending your watch to us.

We've seen used Rolex watches on Ebay, what are those about?

Be wary and cautious - as in everything there are the 'good' the 'bad' and the 'ugly'.

Many Ebay listed Rolex watches are actually fakes and imitations.

Ask any Rolex owner - a pre-owned Rolex will show wear on the crystal, the winder will wear out and the bracelet stretches and becomes loose in time.  With our pre-owned Rolex watches, we replace or refinish those parts like new.  So you are not getting a "used", worn out watch - from CanadaJewels you get one that looks close to new!

Add to that - a complete overhaul and reconditioning of the movement and 100% genuine Rolex replacement parts if needed.

If you must deal on Ebay be careful.  Deal only with reputable sellers.  Insure the Rolex is authentic.  Insure the bracelet isn't stretched, fits you, can be adjusted and that the watch runs perfectly and is guaranteed by actual Rolex competent watchmakers.

CanadaJewels sells the odd Rolex on Ebay - which ones?  Ones we aren't happy with or we made a buying mistake on.

With most dealers its the same way - their worst watches go to Ebay.

Do you take trade-ins?

Yes, but only if you have a higher-end Rolex model such as a President, DateJust or Sports models.  When submitting a trade proposal, please provide the model and serial numbers, metal, overall condition, images and any other useful information.  One of us will respond to your inquiry the next business day.

Why are some prices for the same watch different?

The price of each Rolex is unique - its dependent on how much that watch cost us to purchase and recondition.

Market supply and demand varies.  The reconditioning cost of each watch is also different, some require more replacement parts than others.  Customs, importation charges and currency exchange rates are also factors.
